The 2016 Tour was situated in the beautiful surroundings of Malta's Marsa Sports Club, where Saracens took on Malta Cricket Club.
Saturday 15th October
We arrived at the lovely Marsa Sports Club for our only game of tour with everyone fit and well for a change. Dingy once again forgot the pennant (W award sorted) and after all the photos (Tony B despite standing on tiptoe was still the shortest) Ben negotiated the toss and we were in the field.
Opening up was Hitch (supported by adopted mum Clare) and Tricky and after 3 overs Malta were six for two backed by good fielding with two run outs . Bun and Jenks came on first change and although the opener took a liking to Jenks he quickly departed when Bun had him caught in the deep.
Tony B, Chris and Hana all bowled well with Hana picking up her first ever wicket for the club having Hart bowled with huge cheers from the Sarries Barmy Army.
After 20 overs we had kept Malta to 101-7 off 20 with all the bowlers - Hitch (2-2),Tricky (0-6), Bun (1-16), Jenks (0-20), Tony B (1-15), Chris (0-22) and Hana (1-16) backed up by good fielding with Jenks, Ben and Woody taking good catches
A quick turnaround and the two contenders for the batting trophy - Woody and Jenks opened and soon had the Malta bowlers toiling in the heat as they added 100 off 10 overs with Woody hitting his 8th fifty in 11 innings. Both departed to stumpings, Woody for 57 and Jenks for 32 as they tried to finish in style, which left Vinny (1 no) and Dingy (1no) to score the remaining two runs without any further loss which was lucky as no one was padded up.
A good victory against weak opposition due to the main side having a game in the afternoon. Thank You to all the supporters who braved the hot weather to come and support us.
Next came the Sarries Dash with the following result:

A well deserved beer was followed by an afternoon at the pool and more beers, Cricket on tour and for the season had ended. 2016 has been a good season with 12 wins ,7 losses and 1 draw with 3 cancelled.
