Saracens Cricket Club Lost by 2 runs

Match report On an overcast day at Enfield we found ourselves in the field . A good opening spell by woody and tricky got us two early wickets followed by Jenks and Dingy adding two more leaving Enfield on 70-4. The Enfield overseas Aussie then added 49 before Bun got a deserved wicket and despite a ninth wicket stand of 43 a declaration came at 167-8 . Dingy picked up 3 ,Jenks 2,Tricky 2, and Bun 1 . fielding was good with James taking two good catches.
Our innings began with Vinnie and Woody putting on a 67 partnership before Woody fell for a very good 40. Vinnie followed soon after for 25 but Randy (16) and James A(21) kept the momentum going before both fell within an over of each other . Tricky added one before being L.B.W and at 110-5 we were in danger of throwing the game away (that would come later)
Jenks and Rich G repaired the damage and added 45 before Rich G after hitting two successive boundaries danced down the track missed and was stumped for 22 ( W award nomination ). Despite the setback only 19 was needed with plenty of overs remaining.
Jenks was joined by Ben and these two took the score to 164 . Seven overs remaining 4 to win 4 wickets remaining . Jim W uttered those fateful words "this games won I'm taking my pads off "(W award nomination 2) .
Cue mayhem and an aussie style collapse
Jenks fell for a very good 24 before Ben(5) was caught superbly first ball of next over on the deep mid wicket boundary followed 3 balls later by Dingy (L.B.W ???) well done James A. Enjoy the journey home on the roof .
this left Jim W and Bun to scrape the 3 needed for the win . Jim managed a single before Bun was bowled leaving us 2 runs short with 6 overs still to be bowled . From 164 -6 we ended up 165 all out . The Sarries once again claiming defeat from the jaws of an easy victory. It was a despondent changing room knowing we had thrown the game away after getting into a winning position although the despondency didn't last long as the drinks began to flow .
W award nominations were Jim W for the we got this won comment , Rich G for his dance down the wicket . with 6 votes Rich G received the award .
On to next week .remember its only a game .
