Holtwhites Trinibis 2nd XI v Saracens Cricket Club 1st XI on Sun 14 Aug 2016 at 2.00pm
Saracens Cricket Club Won By 3 wickets

Match report On a fine sunny day, a youthful Sarries played on the bottom pitch at old rivals Holtwhites. Holtwhites fielded an even younger squad of players, leaving Dinghy and Bun looking like a couple of granddads.
Tricky as usual did not win the toss and we are in the field. Opening up, Cabbie excelled in his delivery of 8 or 9 ball overs, and Marcus at the other end suffering from some good attacking shots. After just 8 overs, we were looking at 100 on the board, only half coming from the bat! Partially due to some eccentric wicket keeping from james leading to numerous byes.Though a magnificent diving catch from Dinghy had at least removed one batsman! Tricky and Bun were brought in to stem the flow and did so successfully. All went well until the Holtwhites tail wagged, and we were chasing 221, 50 runs more than it should have been.
Our reply started in typical Woodyesque style. With 50 on the board after 5 overs and Jim Wafford providing just 5 of those. Woody smashing 4s and 6s everywhere it looked like a Sunday afternoon stroll. Which is exactly how Jim was run out, strolling to the other end and run out by a mile. Cabbie promoted at his own request got a golden LBW. Classic )). Dinghy then joined Woody and we continued to dominate. Once again Woody got into the nervous 80's and got out to a good ball from their promising 12 year old spinner. Dinghy and Hitch continued to chase the target sensibly before Dinghy was bowled. Then a typical Sarries collapse. 2 more golden ducks and a hat trick! Surely we were not going to lose? In trooped Conor, who managed to use up 6 overs for 5 runs leaving Hitch trying to score the necessary runs. Suddenly we were behind the rate. Conor was out and with 3 overs left and 21 needed skipper Tricky, on one leg poor thing, entered the fray. Great running between him and Hitch left us needing 7 off the last over. This came down to needing 3 to win off the last ball. Unbelievably, hitch it for a risky 2, which would have meant a tie, but their fielder trying to run him out threw for 4 overthrows. So a great and exciting win! Hitch getting to his undefeated 50 in the process. Great game and thanks to Hannah for scoring throughout.
W award- had to be JAMES. Numerous byes, making hitch drop a dolly by obstructing him and a golden duck ))
