Match report So on an amazingly hot summers day. Jonny won the toss and batted . A brave move, but welcome to be out of the heat. Makeshift opener Helmet had a few wafts and was caught, but not after Jonny had stroked a few boundaries. In strides Hitch. Jonny continuing to bat beautifully and a chanceless 50. Hitch was beginning to get into his stride. Jonny reached a magnificent 100 and Hitch 50. Finally Jonny was out after a partnership of 150ish. Hitch to the fore and also reaches his debut 100. A great knock. Tony hit a nice 4 and departed and Jenks smashed a few. Total 265 off 40 overs even though it's a time game.
The pitch is a belter and Hertford have plenty of time. A cutbacker from Cabbie sees off the dangerous Marques as an opener and cabbie takes 2 more. Marcus then Aiden bowl tidy spells, with aiden taking a wicket. The reliable Dinghy removes the stubborn opener and then the hard hitting last batsman in Hertfordshire line up. Then it was a case of Hertford shutting up shop. Tony nipped in with a wicket but we could not remove their last 2 wickets, despite a neat spell from Conor. Match drawn.
