Saracens Cricket Club Lost by 8 runs

Match report A damp day at Watton, dark skies and a day for tricks to win the toss. He didn't. So bowling we were. 30 over game.Cabbie after a dodgy first over got into his stride and took a terrific 3-17. Marcus meanwhile lost his radar and went for a few. 4 down quickly and we were in the driving seat. Then disaster. A great 5th wicket partnership of over 100 saw Watton dispatching us to all parts. Bun and tricky got a wicket apiece but we went for 212. A formidable total in a 30 over game, aided of course, by a few dropped catches.
The chase was on. 7 an over from the off. Jonny went 3rd ball. Then an excellent partnership between tricky and hitch kept us in the game though falling behind the rate. Tricks out for 19 but yet another great 50 from Hitch. Helmet and chris came and went quickly then Jenks strode to the wicket. Attacking from ball 1 Jenks pasted the bowling and got us up with rate. Tony kept him company and we needed 17 off the last 2 and 12 off the last. We fell just short on 204 but a great effort. Great day too for the ladies under their umbrellas. Despite the rain they thoroughly enjoyed their ladies day ))
W award- cabbie. Late again! Catch of the day- hitch. Only catch taken! Shot of the day- Jenks almost straight 6 nearly taking out a window. Champagne moment- Tony. Marvellous dive whilst running between the wickets
