Match report Batting first on a damp pitch Vinnie and Tricky opened . Vinnie was lucky not to go lbw first ball given the benefit of the doubt by the generous umpire(Jenks) but wasn't so lucky the next time and we were 20-1 Vinnie gone for 14.
Ben joined Tricky and both batted superbly putting together a partnership of 161 in 33 overs with Stu Hitch getting pad rash on the side. Tricky finally hold out at long on for 74 and finally Stu joined Ben and gave him enough of the strike for him to reach his hundred in the final over finishing 102n.o with Stu 10 n.o. After 40 overs we scored 225-2
After a solid batting performance it was down to the bowlers with Cabbie and Will opening . . Erratic bowling with too many short balls the oppo raced to 60 odd in the first 8 overs . Will made the breakthrough in the 8th over and After this we began to gain the upper hand despite losing Greystoke with a pulled muscle chasing after the ball( Didn't touch the ball the whole game batting bowling or fielding -that will be 10 pound please and all 11 votes for W award )
Wickets steadily fell and the scoring was restricted after the opener had been bowled and we finally bowled them out for 172 (would have been a lot less without the 40 extras) . Wicket takers Will( 1-30) , Hitch G ( 1-41, ) ,Jenks(2-13),Dingy(4-13), Tricky (2-10) . Special mention to Tony B who didn't bat or bowl but ran about a lot in the field and still came out smiling . His day will come . Think that's everyone mentioned
